                        Following the International Conference “POWER PLANTS 2025”  

       – Tradition, Expertise, Science and Vision of the Future of the Energy Sector –

The Society of Thermal Engineers of Serbia successfully organized this year’s edition of the international conference Power Plants 2025, held from 4 to 7 November 2025 at the “Palisad” Hotel on Zlatibor, under the patronage of the Ministry of Mining and Energy, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, the Ministry of Environmental Protection of the Republic of Serbia, the Joint Stock Company “Electric Power Industry of Serbia”, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.

The International Conference Power Plants once again lived up to its reputation as the leading regional forum for the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of energy. This year’s event brought together experts, researchers, engineers, and representatives of industry and governmental institutions from Serbia, the region, and the world. 200 participants from 13 countries took part in the conference in various capacities, with the expected strong attendance from the region, who once again formed the majority of the participants.

The focus of Power Plants 2025 was placed on the most important topics in today’s energy sector: projects aimed at the revitalization and modernization of existing facilities, the integration of renewable energy sources into the energy mix, the development of pumped-storage hydropower plants as a key mechanism for balancing systems with an increasing share of RES, as well as the consideration of the prospects of nuclear energy as a long-term option for ensuring stable supply. Particularly notable were the sessions presenting the construction project of the new Unit 3 of the Thermal Power Plant “Kostolac B”, the insightful session dedicated to trends in the hydropower sector, and the highly engaging session on the future of nuclear technologies, featuring a significant number of speakers from Serbia and abroad.
